Ingredients
Scale
Chicken and Sauce
- 2 Hühnchenbrustfilets (chicken breast fillets)
- 200 ml Sahne (heavy cream)
- 100 g frisch geriebener Parmesan (freshly grated Parmesan cheese)
- 2 Knoblauchzehen, gehackt (garlic cloves, minced)
- 2 EL Olivenöl (2 tablespoons olive oil)
- Salz und Pfeffer nach Geschmack (salt and pepper to taste)
Pasta
- 250 g Pasta (e.g., spaghetti)
Garnish
- Petersilie (parsley), chopped for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the Chicken: Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Season the chicken breast fillets with salt and pepper. Cook the chicken for about 5-6 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
- Add the Garlic: Add the minced garlic to the pan with the chicken and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not burned.
- Make the Sauce: Pour 200 ml of heavy cream into the skillet and bring it to a gentle boil. Stir in 100 g of freshly grated Parmesan cheese until it melts into a smooth sauce. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
- Cook the Pasta: Meanwhile, cook 250 g of pasta in boiling salted water according to package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta, reserving a little pasta water if needed.
- Combine Pasta and Sauce: Gently fold the cooked pasta into the creamy Parmesan sauce, tossing to coat evenly. If the sauce is too thick, add a small amount of reserved pasta water to loosen it.
- Serve and Garnish: Plate the pasta with the chicken breasts on top or on the side. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve immediately for best flavor and texture.
Notes
- For extra flavor, marinate the chicken briefly in olive oil, garlic, and herbs before cooking.
- Use freshly grated Parmesan cheese rather than pre-grated for a creamier sauce.
- Reserve some pasta water to adjust sauce consistency if needed.
- Feel free to add a pinch of nutmeg to the sauce for a subtle warm note.
- This dish pairs well with a light green salad or steamed vegetables.
