Description
Triple Layer Cracker Toffee Bars combine salty Club crackers with layers of rich caramel toffee and a smooth chocolate topping for a deliciously sweet and crunchy treat perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
Cracker Layer
- 1 box Club Crackers
Caramel Toffee Layer
- 1 (14 oz) can Sweetened Condensed Milk
- 1 cup Brown Sugar
- 1/2 cup Butter
- 1/4 cup Milk
Chocolate Topping
- 2 cups Milk Chocolate Chips
Instructions
- Prepare the Pan: Line a 9 x 13-inch pan with aluminum foil, allowing the edges to hang over the sides for easy removal later. Lightly spray the foil with non-stick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Layer Crackers: Arrange a single layer of Club Crackers evenly across the bottom of the prepared pan, forming the base layer.
- Make Caramel Mixture: In a saucepan over low heat, combine the sweetened condensed milk, brown sugar, butter, and milk. Stir frequently as the butter melts to ensure the ingredients combine smoothly.
- Cook Caramel: Once the butter has melted, increase the heat to medium-high. Continue cooking the mixture for 5 minutes, stirring constantly to prevent burning and to help the caramel thicken properly.
- First Caramel Layer: Remove the saucepan from heat and pour about one-third of the caramel mixture evenly over the first layer of crackers. Spread gently to cover the crackers completely.
- Second Cracker Layer: Place another layer of Club Crackers over the caramel, covering it evenly.
- Second Caramel Layer: Pour half of the remaining caramel mixture over the second cracker layer and spread evenly to cover.
- Final Cracker Layer: Add the last layer of Club Crackers on top of the caramel.
- Final Caramel Layer: Pour the remaining caramel mixture over the final cracker layer and spread to cover evenly.
- Melt Chocolate: Microwave the milk chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
- Top with Chocolate: Spread the melted chocolate evenly over the top caramel layer for a glossy, rich finish.
- Chill: Place the pan in the refrigerator and allow the bars to harden completely, which usually takes at least 2 hours.
- Cut and Serve: Once hardened, lift the bars out using the foil edges and turn upside down onto parchment paper. Cut into bars with the chocolate side down to achieve clean cuts.
Notes
- Use a light hand when spreading caramel to avoid breaking the crackers.
- Be sure to stir caramel constantly to avoid burning or uneven cooking.
- Chill time can be extended for firmer bars before cutting.
- Store bars in an airtight container in the refrigerator to maintain freshness.
- Perfect for gifting or party treats due to their easy portability and delicious flavor.
