  • Author: Sarah
  • Total Time: 50 minutes
  • Yield: 4-6 servings 1x

Description

Shrimp Scampi Pasta Bake is a rich and creamy seafood dish featuring linguine or spaghetti tossed in a garlic-butter sauce infused with white wine and fresh lemon. Topped with succulent shrimp and a blend of Parmesan and mozzarella cheeses, then baked until bubbly and golden, this comforting casserole is perfect for a family dinner or special occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Pasta

  • 12 oz linguine or spaghetti

Shrimp and Sauce

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 cup white wine (or chicken broth for a non-alcoholic version)
  • 1 lemon, juiced and zested
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Cheese and Garnish

  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it’s ready for baking when the pasta is prepared.
  2. Cook the Pasta: Boil the linguine or spaghetti in salted water according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta and set it aside.
  3. Sauté Aromatics: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing for about 1 minute until fragrant but not browned.
  4. Cook the Shrimp: Add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  5. Prepare the Sauce: Pour the white wine (or chicken broth) into the skillet to deglaze, scraping up any browned bits from the pan. Let it simmer for 2 minutes to reduce slightly. Then add the lemon juice, lemon zest, and heavy cream, stirring well to combine and bring to a gentle simmer.
  6. Toss the Pasta: Add the cooked pasta back into the skillet with the sauce. Toss thoroughly to coat all the pasta evenly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Assemble and Bake: Transfer the creamy pasta mixture into a 9×13-inch baking dish. Arrange the cooked shrimp evenly on top. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan and shredded mozzarella cheeses.
  8. Bake to Perfection: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and slightly golden on top.
  9. Garnish and Serve: Remove the pasta bake from the oven and sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the top before serving immediately.

Notes

  • For extra heat, add more red pepper flakes when sautéing the garlic.
  • Try different cheeses such as Gruyère, Asiago, or Fontina for a unique flavor twist.
  • Add vegetables like spinach, cherry tomatoes, or mushrooms along with the pasta for a more balanced dish.
  • Swap shrimp with chicken, scallops, or salmon for variety.
  • For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free pasta instead of traditional linguine or spaghetti.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
  • Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 15 minutes or microwave for 1-2 minutes as needed.
  • Serve with garlic bread, roasted vegetables, or a fresh side salad for a complete meal.
