  • Total Time: 1 hour
  • Yield: 8 servings 1x
  • Diet: Low Carb

Description

This Keto Chili Dog Casserole is a low-carb, flavorful dish combining ground chuck simmered in a spicy chili sauce with hot dogs wrapped in low carb tortillas, baked to perfection with melted cheddar cheese. Perfect for a comforting and satisfying meal that fits within a ketogenic diet.

Ingredients

Scale

Chili Sauce

  • 1 pound ground chuck
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can petite diced tomatoes
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 cup water

Casserole

  • 8 hot dogs
  • 8 low carb tortillas or wraps
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F and spray a 9×13 inch casserole dish with nonstick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  2. Prepare Chili Sauce: In a medium saucepan, combine cooked ground chuck, petite diced tomatoes, water, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, and dried oregano. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for 8-10 minutes until the sauce thickens nicely.
  3. Layer Sauce and Hot Dogs: Spoon some of the prepared chili sauce into the bottom of the casserole dish. Roll each hot dog inside a low carb tortilla and place them seam-side down in the sauce to keep them intact.
  4. Add Remaining Sauce and Cheese: Pour the remaining chili sauce evenly over the wrapped hot dogs, then top the entire casserole with shredded cheddar cheese to add a rich, melty layer.
  5. Bake the Casserole: Place the casserole dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the casserole is set through.
  6. Serve: Allow the casserole to cool slightly before serving. Add your favorite keto-friendly toppings if desired and enjoy a hearty, spicy meal.

Notes

  • Use low carb tortillas to keep the casserole keto-friendly.
  • Make sure to cook the ground chuck before combining with other ingredients.
  • Customize the spice level by adjusting the chili powder amount.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated.
  • Serve with keto-friendly toppings like sour cream, jalapeños, or avocado slices for extra flavor.
