Ingredients

Scale

Seafood and Meat

  • 1/2 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 pound Andouille sausage, finely diced

Dairy

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream

Vegetables

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced (for garnish)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Spices and Seasonings

  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Serving

  • Tortilla chips, baguette slices, or vegetables for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Shrimp and Sausage: Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the diced Andouille sausage and cook until browned and fat is released, about 5 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and set aside. In the same skillet, cook the shrimp until pink and opaque, about 3-4 minutes. Remove shrimp, chop into small pieces, and set aside with sausage.
  2. Cook the Vegetables: In the same skillet, add chopped onion and green bell pepper. Sauté until soft, about 5 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  3. Mix the Base: In a large mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese, and grated Parmesan cheese. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  4. Combine Ingredients: Add cooked shrimp, sausage, and sautéed vegetables to the cheese mixture. Add Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until well incorporated.
  5. Bake the Dip: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and spread evenly. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the dip is bubbly and golden brown on top.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Remove dip from the oven and garnish with sliced green onions and chopped parsley. Serve hot with tortilla chips, baguette slices, or fresh vegetables.

Notes

  • Adjust the spice level by reducing or omitting cayenne pepper for a milder dip.
  • Use fresh shrimp for the best texture; if using frozen, thaw and drain thoroughly to prevent excess moisture.
  • Prepare the dip ahead by assembling and refrigerating tightly covered for up to 24 hours; bake just before serving.
  • This dip pairs well with crackers, baguette slices, or crunchy vegetable sticks like celery and bell peppers.
