  • Author: Sarah
  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

Creamy Steak Pasta is a delicious and hearty dish that combines perfectly seared steak with tender pasta enveloped in a rich, creamy parmesan sauce. Ideal for dinner, this meal balances savory flavors and creamy textures to satisfy any pasta and steak lover.

Ingredients

Scale

Steak

  • 1 lb steak (ribeye or sirloin)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

Pasta

  • 8 oz pasta (fettuccine or penne)

Sauce

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter (divided)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Season the Steak: Season the steak evenly with salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning, ensuring both sides are well coated to enhance flavor.
  2. Sear the Steak: Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steak and sear on both sides until browned and cooked to your preferred doneness. Remove the steak and let it rest to retain juices.
  3. Cook the Pasta: While the steak rests, boil pasta in salted water until al dente. Drain the pasta and set aside, reserving some pasta water if needed for sauce consistency.
  4. Prepare the Sauce: In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter and minced garlic. Sauté over medium heat until fragrant, about 1 minute. Pour in heavy cream and allow it to simmer gently until slightly thickened.
  5. Add Cheese and Combine: Stir in grated parmesan cheese until fully melted and the sauce is smooth. If necessary, add a splash of reserved pasta water to adjust sauce consistency.
  6. Toss Pasta in Sauce: Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat evenly with the creamy parmesan sauce.
  7. Slice and Serve: Slice the rested steak thinly and arrange it on top of the pasta. Serve immediately, optionally garnished with extra parmesan cheese or fresh herbs.

Notes

  • Use ribeye for more marbling and a richer flavor; sirloin is leaner but still tasty.
  • For a lighter version, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half or a cream alternative.
  • Resting the steak is crucial to keep it juicy and tender.
  • Extra parmesan and fresh parsley or basil make excellent garnishes.
  • Adjust seasoning in the sauce to taste before serving.
