Description
Cheesy Chicken Crescent Rolls are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or snack featuring tender cooked chicken mixed with cream cheese, cheddar cheese, and flavorful seasonings, all wrapped in buttery crescent roll dough and baked to golden perfection.
Ingredients
Scale
Dough
- 1 can (8 oz) crescent roll dough
Filling
- 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon parsley, chopped (fresh or dried)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
For Baking
- Olive oil or cooking spray, for greasing the baking sheet
Instructions
- Preheat Oven and Prepare Baking Sheet: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking sheet with olive oil or cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Make Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine shredded cooked chicken, softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix well until the filling is smooth and evenly combined.
- Prepare Dough: Open the can of crescent roll dough and unroll it onto a clean, flat surface to separate the dough into triangles.
- Fill and Roll Crescents: Take one triangle of dough and place a spoonful of the chicken and cheese filling at the wider end. Roll the dough toward the pointed end, gently tucking in the sides to seal the filling inside.
- Arrange on Baking Sheet: Place the rolled crescents onto the prepared baking sheet with the pointed end facing down to help keep them sealed. Repeat the process with the remaining dough and filling.
- Bake: Bake the crescent rolls in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, or until they are golden brown and puffed up.
- Cool and Serve: Allow the crescent rolls to cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before serving warm.
Notes
- You can substitute cooked shredded rotisserie chicken to save time.
- Feel free to add spices like paprika or onion powder for extra flavor.
- Use fresh parsley for a brighter flavor, or dried parsley if that’s what you have on hand.
- These crescent rolls can be served as snacks, appetizers, or party finger food.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container and reheat in the oven for best texture.
